Performance Contracting Office

Performance contracting works as a management tool to help Sang’alo Institute of Science & Technology’s policymakers define responsibilities and expectations for staff to achieve mutually agreed goals. The aim is to have a real impact in improving processes, creating new behavior patterns, and adopting a positive work ethic in service delivery. It helps clarify the Institute’s objectives and its relationship with the government in line with Kenya’s Vision 2030 development blueprint. Performance contracting has had a profound positive impact on productivity, employees’ motivation, Infrastructure development, and effectiveness in service delivery, among others. The performance enhancement in the academics and administrative functions of the institution has consistently led to growth and development since Performance Contracting came into play in 2008

The introduction of performance contracting has resulted in good practices in performance management. The activities accrued from the opening of PC strategy include; the organization’s mission and vision, strategic plan, annual operational plans, individual work plans, and quarterly performance reports among other activities that were never important in process-based management PC have also resulted in improved service delivery at SIST. It has strengthened performance culture and, staff has slowly begun to internalize the idea of having annual operational plans, every service area prepares annual plans and set targets. It has enhanced efficiency in the utilization of resources, and streamlined service delivery.

 

 

ISO

Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology attained ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems, certification having satisfactorily met the requirements as ascertained by the certifying body- Kenya Bureau of Standards.

The Quality Management System provides a structure for doing things correctly, efficiently, and effectively. It helps in the formulation of short and long-term strategies to help institutions run efficiently.

The Quality Management Representative ensures that various departments establish, implement and maintain processes needed for Quality Management Systems to work.

The QMR also reports any need for improvement on the performance of the QMS to top management, as well as ensuring the promotion of awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization
