Food and Beverage

The department was created to cater for the ever increasing manpower demand in the hospitality industry .The Department has highly qualified and dedicated staff that aspires to produce graduates that meet changing requirements in the dietetics and hospitality industry. We are a model Department in Hospitality and Dietetics Training. The department is already licensed to offer these courses by the Kenya Nutritionists and Dietetics Institute. Our students have continued to participate and excel in TVET fairs both at regional and National levels. The Institute  has put in place management tools such as ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management system, Performance contracting a strategic plan and a budget and procurement plan in order to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in management .The department adheres to these management tools so as to contribute towards providing quality training that exceeds the expectations of students. In conclusion, I congratulate all our graduands and wish them well in their future endeavors.

Courses Offered:
The following courses are offered in the department
1. Diploma in Catering and Accommodation Management

2. Diploma in Food and Beverage Management

3. Diploma in Dietetic Management

4. Certificate in Food and Beverage Service and sales

5. Certificate in Catering and Accommodation operations

In addition to the above, we intend to start offering Diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics and Certifiate in Nutrition and Dietetics as soon as KNEC is ready to examine them.
